Grant from Soros Foundation - Kyrgyzstan is a free financial support (not to be paid back) awarded for implementation of stated initiatives by the grantee in building open society and/or development in diverse social spheres strictly according to the stated purpose. Grant may be used by the grantee only for charitable noncommercial purposes, and is not allowed to make profits during the whole grant award period stipulated in the Grant agreement that must be signed by both the Foundation party and Grantee. Principles of Grant activities of Soros Foundation - Kyrgyzstan: - Openness,

- Aimed at development,
- Long-term basis
The Foundation awards grants to individuals and organizations that perform activities coinciding with the Foundation mission and goals. Decisions on Grants award is being made by Program Expert Board only after announced and published open competitions or special projects in public mass media. Decisions on conducting a competition is being made by Program Expert Boards or during Governing Board meeting when confirming Program Budgets Plans. Grant Proposals are accepted only when they are submitted in the Application Form specified by the competition requirements of Soros Foundation - Kyrgyzstan. Grant moneys must not be used by grantee(s) for financing of political parties, political public associations or movements or other goals not specified by the Grant agreement. Awarded grants may be withdrawn for the reasons of breaking the Grant agreement by grantee(s), for example, spending grant moneys for goals that were not originally stated in the Grant agreement, participating in fraud (providing with false information), performing activities not according to the stated plan schedule regularly or other. Decisions on grant withdrawal are being made by the Foundation Board and Program Expert Boards. Grant activities of the Soros Foundation - Kyrgyzstan are stipulated and regulated by Grant Procedures, Laws and Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic applicable to Financial operations of organizations in Kyrgyzstan. Grant Procedures of Soros Foundation – Kyrgyzstan include:· Acceptance and Registration of Grant applications,· Evaluation of Grant applications,· Paying Grant moneys and Collecting Reports, · Grant Project Monitoring,· Grant closure. The Soros Foundation - Kyrgyzstan Program that awarded a grant, Grants Department and Finance Department of the Foundation perform control over compliance with the Grant Procedures.
